I’ve been practicing dentistry for 36 years, and I’m still as passionate about it today as I was when I first started. My profession has given me and my family a great life, and I truly believe dentistry is in a great place. Prevention is key—dentistry is one of the few professions actively trying to put itself out of business by teaching patients how to prevent oral disease. I love being able to help people not just when they need care but also in educating them on how to maintain their oral health for the long term.

Education

Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to be a dentist. I’ve always had a love for the sciences and biology, and I knew I wanted to help people. I completed my undergraduate studies at Sacramento State and UC Davis before earning my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1988. After 36 years in the field, I have no plans of slowing down—I still love what I do.

Continuing Education

Continuing education is crucial to staying up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry, and it benefits my patients by allowing me to offer the most modern and effective procedures. Over the years, I’ve been involved in several study groups and regularly attend ADA and CDA member meetings. I’m also passionate about keeping my staff well-trained, bringing in infection control experts to ensure we’re maintaining the highest standards.

I’m especially passionate about implant dentistry. I was fortunate to be one of the first dental students to receive dental implant education while still in school in 1985, and I’ve continued to advance my skills in this area ever since. Implant dentistry has made a real difference in many of my patients’ lives, and it’s a field I’m deeply committed to.

Family and Community

I’m married to my wonderful wife Kim, and we have two grown sons, Craig and Chad. We also have the cutest five-year-old Springerdoodle, Holly, who keeps us entertained. In my free time, you’ll find me golfing, boating at New Melones Lake, or snow skiing in the winter.

Giving back to the community is important to me. Over the years, I’ve been involved in providing free dental care through Smiles for Kids programs and have volunteered as a coach and board member for Cosumnes Little League. I’m also proud to support local sports programs like Folsom Little League and Folsom High School athletics.
